Teresa Skamletz is a queer dance artist and maker exploring spaces between and beyond inherited structures and binaries. Teresa is interested in investigating possibilities of self and being, uncovering layers of identity through the practice of making and moving. The aim of their creative work is to make the personal, intimate and queer visible and tangible through movement. 
Originally born in Germany, Teresa is a South- East London based dance artist and movement practitioner. Since graduating from Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance they have joined Dance at Middlesex University in the role of Graduate Academic Assistant, where they support the delivery of the undergraduate degree programmes.  

As part of this they have supported numerous outreach and learning & participation activities such as the 2022 Teaching Artist programme, Raising Aspirations and the Accelerator programme. They have also been able deliver contemporary movement classes as well as creative workshops to Middlesex University students. 
As a freelance performer they have been able to join GradLab project at The Point, Eastleigh (2020), Groundmarks Project (2021); a series of site- sensitive dance performances in Sydenham Hill Woods by Hannah Wallace and the creation and touring of ‘Pleasures in Pertinent Pink’ by Katie Serridge Dance (2020- 2022) performing across different venues across the South of England.  
Teresa is an ambassador for Independent Dance engaging in and contributing to ID’s rich community of practice. They recently received the TL Ignite Grant in support of the re- staging of their previous work titled ‘Wet Bit of Sand’, which will be presented on the 19th May as part of Resolution Festival 2022.
